Hot Blues During our Mild Winter!

Hello Howlers! Hope you are enjoying our mid-winter thaw this January! Maybe hot blues around town have something to do with it? Well, Howlin Mercy will be back at the Motor City Casino in the Chromatics Lounge on Tuesday, Feb. 21, the March will find us at Lakeview Bar and Grill in Novi for Saint Patrick’s Day (early show from 4 pm – 8 pm), then we’ll head west to Zukey Lake Tavern on Saturday, March 25! April will take us up to the east side to O’Mara’s in Berkley on April 29. Then, before you know it, summer will be here! So, hang on, we’ll get this dreary winter out of the way soon and on to some cool blues! Hope your New Year was great and we look forward to seeing you out and about in...

Thank you for supporting Howlin Mercy in 2016!

Happy Howlin New Year, one and all! Just a short note of thanks for supporting us in 2016! We did 28 gigs in the year, which kept us all busy! Lots of new festivals, lots of old familiar haunts, and we even got to play on a tour boat on the Detroit River! We’re plugging in 2017 and have a few nice gigs coming up! Check out our gigs page and mark your calendars! On behalf of Andrew, Mike, David and Matt have a cool New Year and we’ll see you out and about! And remember to support local music! It’s the only way we get our gas...

Great Howlin Fall! Get the sled ready for winter!

We had a great fall around town! We played Elba Mar Boat Club’s Halloween party on Grosse Ile and it was a blast! Full dance floor, great costumes and old and new friends all came together for a howlin good time! Nice little club right on the entrance to Lake Erie, great food. You have to stop on by next time you are downriver! We also played Ford Yacht Club‘s Sail Awards, another great boat club downriver at the very southern tip of Grosse Ile! Always a blast playing there! We made our way out at Zukey Lake Tavern in Pinckney for the first time in November. Located (obviously) on Zukey Lake, the whole area is dotted with all sorts of little cool waterways on the way out from the highway. Alison, the manager treated us great! What a cool place, great crowd and fun night! Looking forward to getting back to both! Now, on to Thanksgiving Eve at Bostonz in Eastpointe, then a stop over to Nancy Whiskey in Corktown (Detroit’s oldest party) on Sat. December 4. If you’ve never been to Nancy Whiskey, you really should make some time to come on out and see us! Great fish fry and atmosphere, right up the street from the Motor City Casino! Hope to see you out and about as the holidays descend! Have a great holiday and we’ll see you around...

From the Huron River to the Detroit River! HM in late August!

What a howlin late summer HM had! We played Flat Rock’s Riverfest for the first time right on the Huron River, then the next day, we boarded the Diamond Jack river cruise boat for a fundraiser for the Grosse Ile Animal Shelter! It was a step back to the roaring 20’s with tommy guns and fedoras! A great time was had by all as we cruised out of Wyandotte and up past the Ambassador Bridge. A rainy day turned into a beautiful night, and the big thing is that we helped raise alot of money for our four-legged friends! If you didn’t set sail with us this year, get ready for next year (and rumor has it…we’re gonna need a bigger boat!) We’ve got a little bit of quiet time coming up to clean up the Howlin Mercy den, then we’ll be back at it for Halloween, Thanksgiving and some cool gigs in between! Thank you everyone who came out and supported us this summer! We pretty much batted .1000 in the weather department as compared to past years, so we had that going for us! See you out and about! On to...
